Climate Connections: As a way to reduce paper consumption, please consider downloading the bulletin and reading it on your device during the service.

We will be printing fewer bulletins in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint. We realize that using a device to read the bulletin may be a daunting task, but we have several congregants who are ready to help if you need it. If we are able to purchase less paper over time, we will donate the savings to our outreach efforts. If you don’t have a device to use, but are willing to share a bulletin with your neighbor, that helps us reach our goal too.

Sunday School Information

Sunday School News

Day care for infants and children 3 yrs old and younger during the 10 a.m. service will be provided by Samira Sameni, a preschool teacher at our Saint Andrew’s Children’s Center. Sunday School for children 4 yrs and up will be taught by Tammy Smecker-Hane during the 10 a.m. service. Both will happen together in the Kangaroo Room of the Children’s Center, whose entrance is located in the far left-hand corner of the courtyard (just follow the sign).

This Sunday we will learn about Jesus’ rising from the dead on the first Easter Sunday, and we’ll be making Easter crosses to celebrate the good news. The Easter Egg Hunt for the children will begin as soon as Father Peter is finished greeting people after the 10 a.m. service. There is a special area just for the youngest children ages 3 years and below, and the majority of the lawn will be for the children aged 4 and above. After the service, have the children come to the table, get their paper bag and write their name on it, and then they’ll be ready to join in when Father Peter announces the start. Note that next week we’ll take a break and not have Sunday School. We’ll begin again on the following Sunday, May 4, with a free play day on the playground. If you have any questions or feedback about Sunday School, please contact our Sunday School teacher, Tammy Smecker-Hane.

Holy Week Services

Maundy Thursday - Thursday, April 17, 6:00 p.m.

The three great days, or Triduum, begin tonight with an intimate service recalling Jesus’ last supper, including the washing of feet and the stripping of the altar. A prayer vigil follows in the chapel throughout the night until 9am on Good Friday. Please sign up in the Narthex beginning March 10th for the vigil.

Good Friday – April 18, 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The most solemn day of our church year, we gather to commemorate the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Priests are available, by appointment, on Good Friday, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. to hear confession in the Chapel.

The Great Vigil of Easter – April 19, 7:00 p.m.

In this most ancient liturgy of the Church, we begin outside in darkness to light the new fire of Easter, processing with the light of Christ into the church for a celebration of our salvation, Holy Baptism, and Jesus’ victory over death and the grave.

Easter Sunday – April 20, 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m.

Festival Eucharist with choir, organ, a triumphant celebration.

Easter egg hunt follows the 10:00 a.m. service.

Altar Flowers

Traditionally, there are no flowers at the altar during Lent and Holy Week. Any dedications received at this time will be printed in the Easter bulletins. To make a donation for Easter flowers, please fill out a flower donation envelope in the pews and place it in the offering plate. The Altar Guild thanks you for your donation. We will continue to accept Easter flower donations throughout the Easter Season.

Easter Flowers For Wooden Cross

Please bring fresh flowers on Easter Sunday for the cross outside of church, as we transform it from a wooden cross of hopelessness to a beautiful cross of HOPE.

Men's Group - April 19

St. Andrew's men will meet for their monthly breakfast on Saturday, April 19 at 8:30 a.m. at Strawberry Farms. All are welcome! Please contact Peter if interested.

Celebration of Life for Ted Morse - April 26

A Celebration of Life for Ted Morse will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Ted’s name.

Save the Date for Spice It Up! June 7

This year's fundraising gala will take place on Saturday, June 7. Building on last fall's success, we will have a taco truck and silent auction. We still need a volunteer to be in charge of non-alcoholic drinks, so if you would like to take this on, please contact JoJo Caprini. More details to follow as we get closer to the event.

Creation Care

As a follow up to our Creation Care Exhibition in March, we’ve posted a summary on our website.

Pray for Peace in the Holy Land

The Rt. Rev. John Harvey Taylor asks us to pray for peace and keep in our hearts the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem and its archbishop, the Rt. Rev. Hosam Naoum. Bishop Taylor has written to him on our diocese’s behalf and invites us to make a gift to the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, which supports the Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City. Archbishop Naoum calls on all to unite in prayer for reconciliation.
